Lately I have been thinking about purpose and meaning.
I found my life was drifting down a path that didn’t align with my values and my desired future self. I felt a little trapped which was uncomfortable.
“Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose.”
Viktor Frankl
Time to redirect that compass. Beware of being “busy” without actively influencing your life trajectory.
“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.”
Friedrich Nietzsche
So I have been reflecting on my purpose. What gets me out of bed and excited in the morning? Where am I going to devote the next chapter of my life? Where can I make a fulfilling contribution?
“What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for a worthwhile goal, a freely chosen task.”
Viktor Frankl
If it’s not something you have previously thought about deeply, it can be a taunting task to consolidate your life down into a single purpose.
I took some inspiration from Simon Sinek’s Start With Why to help me through the process.
I took the time to work on my “why”:
To INSPIRE and SUPPORT others to grow, so that they can THRIVE in a world of POSSIBILITY.
I am using it to direct my purpose and the projects that I undertake.
What is your purpose?
