The Looking Glass is a weekly newsletter of timeless wisdom for you to ponder on your journey of growth. I hope you find great value here.

#8 – 17 Jun 2022

Hello friends,

Thanks again for being here!

I’ve been on a creative high today, and I managed to smash out some good work, which feels great! They seem rare for me these days since becoming a father. We must ride those creative and inspired waves when we get them!

How are things going for you?

Here’s an insight, a question, and a quote I reflected on over the last week.

💡 Don’t change who you are for likes

We shouldn’t be changing ourselves to make others like us. It rarely works out in the long run, as we can only keep up the act for so long, and we are left drained and unhappy.

A better path – find people who like you for who you are. That is a much more rewarding path!

❔We all get in our way

You know how you say you want to achieve certain things. Like all these cool projects you are juggling and all the wonderful ways you will change the world.

But there is only one problem. You’re not actually doing them, are you?

In fact, you are actively blocking yourself. For some reason, YOU are the one doing the things which are preventing your success in these desired endeavours.

This powerful question is the first step to overcoming these mental blocks.

How are you stopping yourself from getting the things that you say you want?

💬A Quote to Ponder – When facing imagined troubles

“What I advise you to do is not be unhappy before the crisis comes.”

Seneca

Cheers!
