Would you pay someone for how you spend your time?

It depends on whether or not you think your time is worthwhile. But the funny thing about not assuming that (if you think your time isn’t worthwhile), what happens is you don’t just sit around sort of randomly in a state of responsibility-less bliss; what you do is suffer existentially. And so that seems like a stupid solution.”

We need to take ownership of our time. It is our responsibility, not someone else’s. The reframe of ‘Would pay someone for what I am doing?’ is an excellent way to assess the value of what we are doing. Often we trick ourselves into doing low-value tasks.  Obviously, this doesn’t apply to everything like family or relaxing time, but you get the idea when it comes to the work we know we should be doing.
