When starting something new, it can seem impossible. Maybe you want to start a business, create a podcast, or build a community online around your passion. You don’t know where to start. Everything is confusing and overwhelming.

That’s because you’re breaking new ground. You’re growing. You’re not meant to be perfect and successful the first time around.

So what do you do when you can’t find the courage to move forward?

You just start. Anywhere that feels like the new direction—one step at a time.

Someone once asked me, “how do you eat an elephant?” before they responded with “piece by piece”.

What seems like an impossible project or task becomes possible as we chew through it piece by piece.

So what are you procrastinating on?

Start with the first piece. It doesn’t matter which particular part. Just start. That is the important thing when facing this fear of the impossible.

Over time you build momentum as you go. You’ll learn from mistakes and course correct.

One day you will look back and be surprised at how far you have come!

And how did you do it?

Piece by piece.
