Time for something new

I started feeling a bit tired of the repetitive and ordinary. So I am trying to take a few more risks and shake things up a bit.

I never used to be much of a risk taker until I decided to move overseas to London several years ago.

That really changed things for me and I never felt so alive. Everything was new and exciting. Everyday was an adventure in a new culture.

As we get older it’s easy to hold back and do the same old things, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but every now and then it is great to throw yourself into something new and push yourself to grow in new ways.

After moving back to Australia I felt things slipping back into that state of being “comfortable” and accepting the ordinary. This was an alarm bell for me to shake things up again. Global travel is off the cards with the pandemic, so how else can I make things more interesting?

I’m experimenting with some new things online and trying to have fun with it. I recommend people do the same, try something new, learn a new skill, find a new community. Just because we are locked down doesn’t mean we have to stop growing.

You might be scared to take the leap because of what others think. You might be surprised how supportive people actually are when they see you following your muse.

Reflection

▪️ What is one thing I have always wanted to do, but never allowed myself to do, as it wasn’t seen by others as something I “do”?

Do it!
