What a crazy year 2020 has been so far! A global pandemic and general chaos all round. If you read the news, it may seem hard to get excited about the year.
When I look at the day to day though on a micro level, not much appears to be changing. I’ve been in the same routine now for months since going virtual and socially distancing. Focusing on the simple things and trying to keep good habits.
When I step back to look at a macro level, I would say a lot has changed. The world and society is totally different. It creeps up slowly. And when things do change dramatically, we adjust quickly. It didn’t take long for lock down to feel normal.
They say change is the only constant. Whether we notice it or not, it’s happening.
I found it helps to lean in to the change. Swim with the current. Try and make the most of the situation.
It sure beats the hell out of thrashing about in resistance or burying your head in the sand and sulking.
Change is happening whether we like it or not. So we may as well dance with it.
Reflection
- How do I generally respond to change outside my control?
- What are 3 unexpected positive things to come out of this year so far?
- How can I better lean in to change to make the most of it?
