“You’ve got to be careful if you don’t know where you’re going ‘cause you might not get there.”
Yogi Berra
We often get frustrated by our perceived lack of progress. It weighs us down like heavy baggage, and it pulls us out of the present moment. We feel a looming sense of failure.
But did we actually set a goal in the first place? Is it not just a mixed-up bunch of feelings about a lack of progress with no real aim?
It isn’t fair to be punishing ourselves for something we never clarified in the first place. We need to know what we are measuring. Otherwise, we are just drifting in the wind.
How can we feel regret? We never took the time to get clear on what we wanted.
Take the time to think about what you really want. Set a worthy goal. Then you have something to aim at.
It doesn’t matter if you fall short. At least you are moving in an intentional direction.
