Why are we ashamed to ask for help?

We feel vulnerable asking for help. The culture has made us feel guilty or ashamed for seeking support.

It’s challenging work going it alone, simultaneously fighting all your battles on every front. It’s tough to reinvent the wheel every day, learn everything from scratch, and feel like you have to do it all yourself.

We may wear this doggedness like a badge of honour. The busyness may temporarily feel good to our ego, believing that we can do it all alone. But it is a recipe for burnout.

There is nothing wrong with seeking help. In fact, if you dig into the most fulfilled and successful people in the world, you will see they get A LOT of help.

So why shouldn’t you?
