“The discomfort of growth is always so much more valuable than the illusion of safety.”
Robin Sharma
Growth is hard. It can be painful starting at the bottom. It’s scary wandering into unchartered territory. And it’s stressful having the weight of others on our shoulders. But it is deeply meaningful and endlessly rewarding.
When I reflect back on some of my favourite memories, I realise they are times when I was growing. Often, I was scared and outside my comfort zone. Dancing on the edge of what I was capable of. But this made things come to life and feel exciting for me.
Then there were other times when I felt like I wasn’t growing—trapped in a dead-end job or wasting my precious hours outside of work. Things were cruisy, but I felt like I was dying a little inside.
I know which feeling I prefer.
