Hello friends,
Thanks again for being here!
Here’s an insight, a question, and a quote I reflected on over the last week.
💡 Future time is not yet wasted
We can get hung up on the idea that we are wasting too much time. We see productivity gurus and motivators on social media telling us that hour precious hours are slipping away.
True, we probably wasted time in the past. But there is more to life than productivity, so I disagree with the message that we should always maximise every moment.
- Is there such thing as having an efficient play date with your son or daughter?
- Can you be productive in supporting a grieving friend?
It doesn’t really work there, does it?
And part of life is figuring stuff out, which means a few steps forward and a few steps backwards, but ultimately we get to a better place. So it is really wasted time?
Regardless of the time debate, the reality is your future time is not yet wasted. So you can still make the most of it.
❔ Combine your strengths, skills, and interests sets to become unique
We are usually “ok” at many tasks, and we probably suck at even more things, but then there are a special few in which we excel.
These strengths or skills are unique to us, and they are what makes us “us”.
Many other people will also have each of these particular abilities, but where the magic happens is in our unique combination of these abilities.
This combination gives us a comparative advantage over others.
For example, let’s say you are a natural, confident speaker, have pretty good writing skills, and are passionate about emerging artificial intelligence. Now you probably aren’t considered the best in the world in each of those areas individually. Still, when you combine the three, you can become a superpower – an authoritative and influential communicator on the topic.
So what strengths, skills, and interests could you combine to become a superpower?
💬 A Quote to Ponder – On fitting in
“The cost of fitting in is giving up yourself.”

Cheers!
