“There are secrets to our world that only practice can reveal, and no opinion or analysis will ever capture in full.”

Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Are you an overthinker? Do you often find yourself in the paralysis of analysis?

When we want to start something new, we usually think we need to work it all out beforehand. Think it through, learn the ropes, make a detailed plan, and only then, once all our ducks are in order, we will finally act.

The problem

Our lives are so busy with so many other commitments and responsibilities that this perfect time to start rarely appears. It doesn’t seem long, and we suddenly realise that 3, 6, or 12 months have passed by. Then at the 2-year point, we wonder with regret, “imagine if I actually started two years ago where I could be now?”

The trick is just to start before we are ready. Yes, still make a plan, but the important thing is to begin, not sit on it forever.

The incredible thing is that when we start our practice, the path seems to unfold as we walk. As we progress, more opportunities open up, and we see possibilities that we could never have planned out from the beginning analysis.

So, what are you waiting for?
